The markets are closed today but I suspect market volatility to start to pick up as the Holiday season is waning in our memories and now the business of getting down to business comes to the forefront of our thoughts. What WILL happen in the markets in the coming months?

Will the recovery stick or will the economy fall back into the doldrums? See today's article for my take on this. In a nutshell, as long as the government writes stimulus and bailout checks, the money will be spent and a recovery of sorts will look real. As soon as the checks stop, the economy falls back. We are now addicted to stimulus. More and more will be needed like a drug addict. Did you hear me? MORE and MORE will be needed. Not just the same amounts, but MORE and MORE. The government will oblige us with spending until they are forced to stop. A falling US DOLLAR will be the gun to their head but until that falls hard, they will print and print. It wont be enough, but they dont beleive that. They beleive they can fix this debt problem with more debt. Basic sense tells you this cannot be done. But they will try.

As far as holdings, check past updates. No change for now. I am more and more looking to move money into an interest rate fund soon. Hold some TBT and RRPIX for now. We will ratchet up with some TMV soon. Add more physical Gold and Silver. I suspect their correction is drawing to a close. The Swiss Annuity people (see banner on the site under Swiss Advantage) have put out an updated free booklet which I just finished reading. It is easy to read and well written and I suggest even if you dont plan on buying a Swiss Annuity to read this book. It gives you a sound view of international asset planning and a macro world view of our US DOLLAR. READ IT!
